Hector Bedolla was born in Auburn and raised in Lincoln California. At an early age, his family moved to Yountville where Hector gained a love of the grape growing lifestyle. As a teenager, he worked for various wineries and grape growers, some of which became his career mentors. He attended the University of California at Davis where he received his bachelor’s degree in Plant Science with a double specialization of Agronomy and Viticulture. He then spent 5 years as vineyard manager at Iron Horse Vineyards and Winery managing the Green Valley and Alexander Valley Ranches. During this time, he became a well respected vineyard consultant. In 1988 he began to work for Hambrecht Vineyards expanding the company holdings and developing vineyards, to the amount of 600 vineyard acres. During this period, he was promoted from Vineyard Manager to General Manager and then to Vice President of Vineyard Operations.
Hector continues to be actively involved in state and grape growing organizations. Hector has grown grapes for over 50 vineyard/wineries in his lifetime. In 2010, after almost ten years, Hector left La Crema/Kendall Jackson and began a small viticulture consultancy in the North Coast. Hector and his wife live in Healdsburg California.
