This Cabernet Sauvignon from hillside Block 14 on the southern end of the property was harvested late. 2002 was a warm year and late harvest ensured more complementary flavors for a port style wine. The fermentation was arrested by adding alcohol to preserve the sweetness to make this a fortified wine. The barrel aged brandy we used came from the highly respected distillery, St. George, located in Alameda, California. Rich flavors of toffee, caramel, dried Fruit and turkish plum with a beautiful Amber color coming from 10 years in the barrel . 18.8% alcohol.

Enjoyed 2 lovely bottles of this. Without getting too formal with exotic descriptions: this was very well balanced with a thicker mouth feel than a port but having some of the same characteristics. A wonderful treat. Great Job!
